Threshold value

Hi to all. I have a question. I can get upperlimit of temperature by snmp. Can I set this value as 'Max Value' of threshold in the 'Performance Template' of device. I guess it is possible but I do not know how to do it.

I don't believe there is a way. A Min/Max threshold should not be a dynamic value.

Is the value you're getting through SNMP a dynamic value? If not, what's the difference between statically assigning it in the GUI and assigning it via SNMP? You'll have to make the change either on the device or in Zenoss if you ever want to adjust your threshold. Why not just assign it in Zenoss?

You are right this value is not dynamic... but this value frequently changes manually. In this case we need to change this value in two places (on the device and on the zenoss side).

Well, it could probably be done with a python script and an event command. If you're familiar with python and the Zenoss API, you could accomplish this. What's your level of familiarity with either? I've got some ideas in my head to get this to work...

I'd be willing to try and script something that will work for you... If you can hang in there, I'd probably be able to figure this out in a week or so (busy with work and some other things...).
