I got this same error when changed to time on my server (-7 hours) after i noticed time was set wrong.  I changed the time back to the original (wrong) time and i could log in again.  Though i'm still stuck with an incorrect time.

Your posts led me to the following file:

    /opt/zenoss/etc/zeneventserver/jetty/jetty-logging.xml

In there you can find the following line:

    <Arg><Call class="java.util.TimeZone" name="getTimeZone"><Arg>EDT</Arg></Call></Arg>

The EDT in the middle there is what I changed to match my configured timezone.  Then everything worked again.  Hope this helps you get the times looking right.

Hi Brian - got the same error - tried to modify the file you advised - I changed to EST as that is my timezone (Fri Oct 26 16:44:26 EST 2012), restarted Zenoss but still that same thing.

    Any ideas ?

SysEngJoe - when you say you had the wrong time, what did you mean ?

I'm also still trying to track down a solution to this. So far, no luck.

Jeff Cuts - sorry for the delay in answer, but basically the time on my server was set for 7 hours in the future.  I think i might have accidentally told my server to use UTC time when i installed it.  In order to fix it, i took the drastic step of re-installing the server.  I had given up long before Brian Wagner chimed in.
