Kindly help me regarding command line (other than from gui) to change the properties of the templates I have added through zenbatchload for specific devices in specific device class.
For eg:, I have added a device in class /device/linux with its templates as devices and apache.
Now I want to change default the apache templates properties such as port to be monitored only for that particular devices.
So can I do this using command line rather than through gui. Kindly suggest.
I am not sure whether you are asking about changing z-properties of a template, but if you are then you can refer below link: http://community.zenoss.org/message/66615#66615
Refer this page, in which in the start of the page we have used wget property to add/edit any of the z-property of a template. It runs sucessfully, but when data type is 'lines' it fails.
So in such case I have used zendmd command line shown at bottom of the page, it worked fine for me.
I appreciate ur reply.
What I really want to do is, suppose I have a 2 machines, one running apache httpd on port 80 and another one running apache on port 8081.
I want to monitor each machine's apache httpd using the apache monitor zenpack.
In a template we have datasource. I need to modify apache monitor template's datasource in such a way that I can monitor both the machines running apache, as I am facing problem that if I manually change the data source property (for eg. port) for particular machine, then datasource property is changed globally.
Is there any workaround for changing the datasource properties of any zenoss templates using cmdline or while adding devices using zenbatchload
Did you get it Apoorv.
