i have congifured gnkoii and i have a script that takes a phone number as an argument. In the pager command (Advanced-->Settings-->page command) i have given the path to the script like (/home/zenoss/smscript.py $RECIPIENT) the recipient will expand to phone number which i have supplied in the each user pager. I have tested the script it works fine from terminal. When i test the pager the message pops up on the browser that "Test page send to xxxxxxxxxx" but the message is not received on the mobile. idnot know whats the issue.
any help is much appreciated
You've made sure that zenoss has permission to execute? Also, perhaps yu could post some details on the steps you take when you perform this from the terminal. Also, if you could attach the script?
i have taken script form this link : http://pastebin.com/VFq674ar
and i have followed this thread : http://community.zenoss.org/message/65345#65345
when i execute the script form terminal like
echo "test message" | ./script.py 123456789
it sends message to the number. but when i give the script path in pager field it doesnot send any pager although a message is displayed on the browser that pager sent to 123456789 and the message is also logged into the file but message isnot recieved on vell phone.
regarding permisions yes zenoss have permissions to execute everything.
Yes i dont have this value because i have ubuntu 10.04
in sudoers file. I tried commenting that but to no avail. Dont know what is going wrong. Have you resolved this issue or facing a similar type of issue
I've not used gnokii in particular but I have used custom scripts for sending pages. I've tested the py script that you have minus gnokii. Everything works. Unfortunately we are a CentOS shop.
What this script does essentially??
i have tried it takes two arguments a mesage and a number and then write them to a file gnokiivar.out.
but it doesnot send sms
echo "test" | ./scrip.sh 112345678
nothing just message and number gets written in the file
