I have an HP Microserver running ESXi. Zenoss is running as a VM within it (using version 3.2.1). My wish is to be able to monitor and alert on hardware health of the RAID volume (from a P410 HP card). I am running the correct HP agents in ESXi as I can see the RAID health (and individual disks) in vSphere.
I followed the installation routines AdvDetail and then HPMon (including dependencies and restarting zopectrl), I then remodelled the device once I had added the new zCollectorPlugins (see screenshot) and I have added the relevant fields for user accounts and password . But I still don't see any data - certainly nothing like the screenshots shown on the plugin page.
Can someone help me understand where I might have gone wrong?
As far as I know the HPMon zenpack relies on SNMP data, but the HP agents for ESXi are using the CIM-WBEM model/method to report data. So they simply can't talk to each other. I do not know a zenpack, which can retrieve that data now, but a may be wrong.
