Hi everyone iam just taking advantage of this great product and still got some tweaking to do to keep the events on the dashboard away:)
I keep getting windows eventlog error. NOTE: this is for several different servers.
i have supplied correct user name/pass for the admin - should i create a user that is not admin, maybe the it will work?
iam getting all other info from the server-ip services, machine serial number etc. but the events keep poping up.
Is there a way to turn off wineventLog, without loosing information about the server, just need to know that its up or down on the dashboard,
dont care about windows event log.
"could not read the windows event log (NT code 0xc002001B) check username/password settings and verfiy"
"could not read the windows event log(nt_status_access-denied) check your username/password settings
"could not read the windows event log(nt-status_connection_refused) check your username/password setting
"could not read the windows event log(nt_status_host_unreachable) check yout username/password setting
"could not read the windows event log(nt code 0xc002001b)check your username/password setting
"could not read the windows event log(nt code 0x80070005)check your username/password setting
"could not read the windows event log(nt_status_io_timeout)check your username/password setting
Thank you for your time, please feel free to ask questions.
Well, you could actually do a few things here. Are most of your servers getting Windows Event Log entries OK? If so, I'd suggest that you look into using an event transform that matches against those servers and drops or historifies the events.
Alternatively, you could spend some time trying to figure it out.
Finally, yes, you can stop the zeneventlog daemon safely if you don't care about the Windows event log entries.
i failed to say- that yes i have checked the configuration for the other servers and its exactly the same as the one thats showing status/Wmi (NT code 0xc002001b)
i have also checked the windows snmp conf also and its the same.
Will the stopping of the zeneventlog daemon stop telling med if the server is up or down? or stop the other servers?
It will only stop collecting Windows event log entries on ALL servers. You could also move the problematic server to the device class /Devices/Ping if all you want is up/down notices.
well i got one server working, turns out this is the only server with different password then the others. Any who= fixed.
Any who, i moved the other ones to /devices/ping. for now... i shal fix them - in the future....
