Ran update, followed directions.
Can't see any events. Error says: KeyError 'Core'
I have to roll back to 2.5.2.
These upgrades always have issues.
Ugh, sorry, a bit frustrated yesterday. Anyway, I waited to update my 2.5.2 system and it so happened that 3.01 came out. I had a backup 2.5.2 system that I updated to 3.0 then 3.01 and it seems to work fine. I wonder if I have to go through that upgrade path on my main system. The manual sez I could go directly to 3.01 but I'm going to try just going to 3.0 later to see how that works, and post an update.
I have 600 devices on my main system.
I have to say, about my previous comment, more what I meant was I expected this to have problems. Every upgrade has its own. I can't bitch too much about something that's free. If I can just get everything migrated to 3 and get notifications out, I'll be good.
Does anyone have any comments about this JRE 1.5 the manual mentions as a pre-req?
To roll back, I un-installed the 3.01 rpms, reinstalled the 2.5.2, killed the /opt/zenoss directory, and moved the tar backup back in.
Following up, a number of forum posts helped me solve the missing devices problem:
As the Zenoss user:
$ zenpatch 22038 $ zendmd >>> for b in dmd.global_catalog(): ... dmd.global_catalog.catalog_object(b.getObject(), idxs=["allowedRolesAndUsers"]) ... >>> commit()
Regarding the KeyErrors:
Click on the Advanced tab
Click the "Clear Catalog" button
Then rebuild it from within zendmd:
Also I found you will have issues backing up the system as someone other than the admin user:
$ zenpatch 21579 $ zopectl restart
Hope this helps out!
