Weird issue with libvirt ZenPack

Hi,

I need some assistance in debugging a weird issue I have with the code I

have in subversion for the libvirt zenpack.  Basically, I get this error

the first time I install the zenpack from the dev version:

ERROR: zenpack command failed. Reason: AttributeError: 'libvirtHost'

object has no attribute 'id'

It works on the second install run just fine.  The error seems to be

coming from InstallDiskAsZenPack in Products/ZenUtils/ZenPackCmd.py, but

the explanation of the error doesn't make any sense.  Completely

cleaning out the old install and devices should clean that up, but doesn't.

    Hey David,

This is Joseph from Zenoss. I was able to successfully install your zenpack from subversion with the following command:

    zenpack --link --install ZenPacks.community.libvirt/

So I have a couple of quick questions to ask to aid me in finding the cause of this issue. Which version of zenoss are you running?  Also if you can, can you provide a screenshot or stacktrace of the error from the command line?

Thanks for the extra info to reproduce, let me take a look into it and I will get back with you.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, but I was having trouble reproducing this issue. So I downloaded a vanilla Zenoss Core on a brand new CentOS VM Image. I have also enlisted our new zenpack developer to give me a hand with this. Thank you for your patience!

    David,

We set down and tried the vanilla install for zenoss on CentOS and we were still not able to reproduce the problem. When you get a chance can you send me the version of zenoss you are running (2.5.X or whatever) as well as the operating system.

It maybe caused by stale data in your zodb, have you been able to reliably reproduce this on other zenoss installs?

Sounds good, let me know if it doesn't work. The error just doesn't make sense to me since every object should have an id, it is one of those things that the zodb uses to identify the object.
