I've been adding my network devices to my Zenoss Core installation via the "Add Device" menu. I've found that at least 50% of the time, the SNMP community that I enter into the Add Device menu is ignored or forgotten. The inital modeling of the device fails. If I go into the device afterwards, I see that the SNMP community is set to "public". If I put the correct community in, and re-model the device, all is well.
Does anyone have any idea why the Add Device page is ignoring my entered SNMP community? Any way to fix this problem?
Oh, I'm running 2.5.1 at the moment.
Thanks for any help!
I noticed that two days ago, but hadn't had time to start trying to narrow it down. It occurred on 1/3 of the devices that I added.
I guess the proper thing to do is set zSnmpCommunities or zSnmpCommunity for each device class (assuming they are different)
