 1. Hardware Requirements

You should meet these minimum recommended hardware requirements for a single-server installation of  Zenoss.

Factors other than device count can affect hardware requirements. If you are planning a large or complex installation, contact  Zenoss Professional Services for deployment planning assistance.

 Zenoss recommends that you use a hardware-based RAID 1 (mirroring) drive subsystem to protect against data loss.

 1.1. Small Deployments (1 to 250 Monitored Devices)

Minimum recommended requirements for small deployments are:

  • 4GB RAM

  • 2 CPU Cores

  • 1 300GB, 10K RPM Drive

 1.2. Medium Deployments (250 to 500 Monitored Devices)

Minimum recommended requirements for medium-sized deployments are:

  • 8GB RAM

  • 4 CPU Cores

  • 1 300GB, 10K RPM Drive

 1.3. Large Deployments (500 to 1000 Monitored Devices)

Minimum recommended requirements for large deployments are:

  • 16GB - 32GB RAM

  • 8 CPU Cores

  • 1 300GB, 15K RPM Drive

 1.4. Deployments Larger than 1000 Monitored Devices

If you plan to monitor more than 1000 devices,  Zenoss recommends a distributed deployment. Contact Professional Services for deployment planning assistance.
