Description:

This ZenPack consists of all the publicly available (and edited to be loadable into Zenoss) MIBs for Cisco devices. The MIBs may be used for translating SNMP traps.

There are a very large number of MIBs included in this ZenPack (1412). The screenshot shows a few of the many MIBs included.

Installation:

There are a very large number of MIBs included in this ZenPack (1412), so it is advised that you install with the command-line rather than the UI so it does not time-out. It may still take 4 or 5  hours to process.

zenpack --install ZenPacks.Nova.Cisco.Mibs-1.2-py2.7.egg

Having  this ZenPack installed appears to slow down the UI in Zenoss 2.x or earlier (this step is not required for Zenoss 3.x and later versions). A work-around has  been found to delete the ZenPack and leave the MIBs installed. To do  this, start zendmd and enter the following:

>>> dmd.ZenPackManager.packs._delObject('ZenPacks.Nova.Cisco.Mibs')
>>> commit()

Performing  these steps will eliminate the performance issues, while leaving the  MIBs installed. The first line will take about 15 minutes to complete,  the commit may take another 7-10.

The details for the  modifications to the original MIBs, the steps to build this ZenPack and  further instructions are listed here.
