Analytics combines extract, transform, and load (ETL) procedures with a data warehouse and reporting tools to process report data.
Zope object database (ZODB)
MySQL event database (EventDB)
Round robin databases (RRD), comprising a distributed collection of performance metrics
One component of Analytics, the ZenETL ZenPack, extracts data from the Resource Manager data sources to build a data warehouse used for enterprise reporting. The data warehouse schema is driven by meta data provided by ZenETL, providing a flexible platform for report creation.
Data is extracted periodically in batches. Because ETL is not a continuous process, it processes a batch every eight hours and extracts the data from the previous eight-hour window. Model, event, and performance data are independently extracted.
zenetl - Extracts, transforms, and loads ZODB model information and events.
zenperfetl - Extracts, transforms, and loads RRD performance information. This daemon also runs on each collector. Typically, this is on the server and at each remote collector.
All RRD Data Points are available for performance data extraction. You can select which data points are extracted.
