We are proud to announce the release of Zenoss Core 3.0! The latest Zenoss version was developed in conjunction with our community of more than 75,000 members who provided product input, monitoring extensions, patches and extensive beta testing.

Zenoss Core 3.0

Zenoss Core 3.0 includes the following new features:

• Completely redesigned user interface designed to improve operational effectiveness through simplified navigation, redesigned pages, and embedded tooltips and page tips.
• Product documentation in EPUB e-book format. You can read EPUB books from your iPhone, iPad, Sony Reader, or Nook, or by using e-reader software such as Stanza, FBReader (for Linux devices), or the EPUBReader plugin (for Firefox users).
• Upgraded versions of Python (2.6) and Zope (2.12) for improved compatibility and performance.
  
• Over 50+ New Community Developed Extensions - Since the release of Zenoss 2.5, the community has significantly extended the capabilities of Zenoss Core in the form of over 50+ new ZenPacks.
• Expanded integration and customization through new REST API. In addition  to its scriptable command line interface, interactive shell, and  expansive Web services API based on XML-RPC, Zenoss now offers a REST API with easily consumable XML or JSON return formats. The benefit to  end users is more flexible and simplified options for customization and  rapid integration with other management tools.
• Community Submitted Bugs, Feature Requests and Testing - The Zenoss Community provided significant testing and feedback during this release cycle submitting over 200 bugs and feature requests that have been addressed in version 3.0.

In addition to the new features, the documentation has all been refreshed and substantially updated. For this release, there were over 600 external tickets closed, greatly improving the overall stability and reliability of Zenoss Core. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank and highlight the 170+ community-contributed ZenPacks that are currently available.
